After graduating as an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer from Kotalawela Defence University with a BSc in Aeronautical Engineering (Defence Studies), I commenced my career in the Sri Lanka Air Force on August 5th, 2001. Over the course of my 20-year tenure in the Sri Lanka Air Force, I amassed extensive experience in the aircraft maintenance industry, specializing in various aircraft types, including the C-130 Hercules, Antonov An-32B, Cessna 421 Golden Eagle, Harbin Y-12, Beach King Air B200, and MI-17 Helicopters (Kazan and Ulan-de). My expertise also encompassed mechanical and general engineering across areas such as automobiles, armament, workshop operations, design work, and lecturing for undergraduate students.
In addition to my primary responsibilities, I willingly and effectively served as a lecturer for undergraduate programs, aircraft maintenance technicians, and officers. I extended my teaching and training services to external organizations and Maintenance Training Organizations, specifically in accordance with IS 147 Training Institutes standards. Moreover, I actively participated in quality assurance initiatives throughout my career in the SLAF.
